- Resource Committee:
Ronnie reported that the union list has been created from Serhold. A sample of the entries was passed around for approval. Ronnie printed a list of journal titles to put in from the union list as they appear in the Serhold entry. The committee will wait until the new Serhold update to run the union list. Ronnie is writing instructions for printing the union list from Serhold and will give them to Beth Carlin. The union list will not be on the website because of a lot of unanswered questions regarding copyright and size of file. The committee will concentrate on the print version. Karen Mier will put out a reminder to have your holidngs updated in Serhold before the union list is generated. Karen Mier will have copies printed. Copies will be distributed at future meetings to avoid the cost of mailing them. Joy Winkler moved for approval of the format and Ken Oyer moved for addition of the journal title list. The format for the union list and addition of the journal title list in front was approved by the group. The question was brought up at the executive board: what to do if the Institution has not renewed but continues to request ILLS? The decision will be left to the institution to fill or not fill..

Health HQ will be exhibited at NLA, Tri-chapter meeting of MCLA. A table top display and laptop computer were purchased with the grant money. ICON members can use the display board. Mary Wolcott-Breci will exhibit at NPEC (Nebraska Patient Education Council) at Methodist in July.
- National Library Week
National Library Week Committee asked ICON to support the National Library Week Symposium. The ICON executive board decided to pay the $30.00 registration fee for a personal member or one registration for an institution instead of helping to underwrite the event. Forms are available to fill out at the meeting and are to be returned to Mary Helms. Mary Helms will send out an e-mail as a reminder and for those who were not present at the meeting. If interested in attending, the deadline is March 29 at 5:00 p.m. Response should be sent along with your lunch choice to Mary Helms. One check will be written. If you have already sent in your money, let Mary know and ICON will reimburse you.
- Scholarships for 2001
One $500 scholarship to attend MLA 2001 will be offered. Future scholarships are pending until the June meeting when members will vote on recommendations presented by the executive board. Some suggestions were: offer one grant for $1,000 to an institution which could be applied to any conference not just MLA or MCLA; increase insitituional dues to help pay for Health HQ. Suggestion if we increase institutional dues, the increase would not take effect until the year 2003. Some institutions have already have prepared budgets for the year 2002. If you have any comments on the awarding of scholarships, please e-mail or call anyone on the executive board.
- ABC Breakfasts
Members were asked if ICON should continue to purchase ABC Breakfasts tickets for the next year. Decision was to wait until we know who the speakers are. Mary Helms will call UNO to see if a list of speakers is available. We don’t have to purchase tickets for all of the speakers. We can just purchase tickets for the speakers of interest to the group. We could possibly vote by e-mail or at June meeting to purchase the tickets once speakers are known.
- Next Meetings:
Next meeting is on June 15 at Mahoney State Park our Mini-MLA(lower level). Cost to get in the park is $2.50 per car. Program will be the scholarship recipent’s presentation.
September 14 at 2:00 p.m. at UNMC. Members will be able to tour the newly remodeled library. December Christmas party meeting will be at 2:00 p.m. at Bellevue University. Robin will check to see if wine is permitted at the party. Members agreed that Fridays were a good meeting day.
- Other Business:
CE progam is planned for October 11, 2001. An all day event on web design for users will include ADA compliance. It will be free to ICON members and a charge for non-members. Committee is looking at using ESU facilities since meals can be catered there.
Jim Bothmer presented Ken Oyer with a gift (a library tie) from ICON due to his resignation as executive secretary of ICON.
It was brought up that interlibrary charge to UNMC needs to increase since the amount UNMC charges to ICON libraries has increased to $5.00 from $3.50.Creighton has been billed for 2000 and UNMC has been billed for the first half of 2000. Mary will increase the amount charged to UNMC to $5.00 per ILL request for the second half of 2000.
