A Message from the Senior Executive Board Member
It seems like just a year ago, I was the Freshman member of the executive board. (Wait a minute, it WAS just a year ago!) I have had to speed up the learning process over the past year as I filled the vacated Junior position.
We started the year waiting for word on two contract proposals. The healthHQ project continues to expand and finding funding for the ongoing maintenance of the website is a priority. The proposal submitted to the NN-LM was not granted, so the challenge of the healthHQ committee is to find alternative funding.
We have also submitted a proposal for Ariel access for institutional libraries in order to provide faster, more efficient service to our clients. A similar project was funded in another region, so we feel hopeful. The proposals are now being reviewed and results are expected later this year.
This year we welcome Shawn Ammon our new communications coordinator. Shawn has taken over for Erin Bauer and already has some new ideas for the ICONection.
ICON is also sponsoring the teleconference: (invitation to HIPAA teleconference) on March 12th at the Creighton Health Sciences Library in the Thune Seminar room.
I would also like to formally invite you to the Spring meeting in the Methodist Cancer Center lower level conference room on March 14th at 2:00 p.m. Teri Hartman and Siobhan Blackwell will give us an update on the activities of the Regional Medical Library.
