Message from the Senior Executive Board Member.

We’re Streaming?! This quarter we converted our video,  “The Librarian is In” to streaming video that is available from the ICON website. This has made internet ‘film’ stars of some of our members! The streaming video may have already shown results as Mary Helms has reported a recent increase in video sales.

We are still waiting to hear about our grant proposal from the Public Health Services to fund Ariel hardware and software. This grant involves a long reviewing process, so we don’t really expect to hear any information until at least July.

healthHQ is still getting positive feedback and continues to be promoted in the area. The data entry, however, remains on hold until ICON can find a solution to the funding dilemma. One option that has been proposed is that an institution or organization takes on the financial responsibility for maintaining the healthHQ database. This would mean cutting the apron strings and allowing someone else to have control of the future of healthHQ. This has always been a goal of the project, though I know there were some mixed feelings from the committee.

The summer meeting will be held in the Oak Room at Bergen Mercy Hospital on June 13, at 2:00 p.m. There will be a report on the MLA annual conference held in San Diego in May. ICON members that attended the MLA annual conference were: Judi Bergjord, Siobhan Blackwell, Jeanne Burke, Theresa Hartman, Mary Helms, Marie Reidelbach, Cindy Schmidt, and Nancy Woefl.
