1. ARIEL: The Ariel grant was approved, but for
less than requested. It will cover needed expenses. Members participating on
the grant will receive a black toner cartridge, printer cable, and power strip.
17 members will receive Ariel software and/or equipment. Shawn and Tom have
split up the locations in order to facilitate installation and training, and
will contact members to set up site visits. NN/LM helped with this grant by
getting baseline statistics. Karen Mier urged members to keep track of
testimonials.
2.
Union List: Teri Hartman will do one more Union List, and will train
Shawn on how the document is created using Access software.
d. Continuing
Education: Jeanne Burke distributed documents showing past and future education
activities. She will continue to email out information about education
opportunities to ICON members. Members suggested that it would be good to have
an Education Activity web page to refer to on the ICON site. Jeanne will work
with Shawn to create such a page. The July education event will need
commitments from members that intend to attend and/or instruct during the
session. Jeanne is still working on a pricing scheme for the October education
session on marketing. The intent is to break-even for ICON members, with
additional charge for non-members. She intends to get CE credit for the session
from the Commission. Jeanne was given a certificate praising her work on
education events for the ICON membership.
Kenny Oyer announced
the upcoming UNO Library Friends class on “It’s about time, it’s about space”.
The ICON executive committee had approved paying half the cost of this class
for all ICON members interested in attending.
Old Business
a. MCMLA in Omaha 2007: Jim Bothmer said
that the 2007 meeting would be planned by ICON alone, since the NLA doesn’t

reported that the LHSG gave ICON one half of their treasury when they disbanded.
Judi picked up a $700 check at the LHSG at their last meeting. ICON will
contact representatives of the LHSG to find a way to express appreciation for
the money.

through MLA to announce that there is a new edition of the notebook. This will
be discussed in the future on the ICON discussion list.
b. healthHQ update: Marie Reidelbach
reported that the database is being updated by personal phone calls to the
contacts for each of the support groups. These contacts have led to more
contacts, enriching the database. healthHQ
was mentioned this Spring in the World-Herald. There was a question about
adding the database as a Go Local function in MEDLINEplus.

received by ICON in the past.
