ICONnection News Corner: Stories from ICON Libraries
At the ICON board meeting, we discussed some of the accomplishments of our members. We felt the need to share & celebrate these endeavors, whether by individuals or member libraries. In order to communicate this information, we’d like to reestablish ICONnection News Corner. The following items have been extracted from a variety of emails. We know there are more impressive happenings that haven’t reached us. Please bring your good news to Spring ICON meeting.
Rose Schinker & Marty Magee are MPLA Board Choice Award Winners for 2005. They’ll be honored at the MPLA conference in Jackson Hole, WY.
Community Outreach Liaison Siobhan Champ-Blackwell is one of
Library Journals 2005 Movers and Shakers. Betsy Hebert, from the Southeast
Atlantic Region, and Siobhan were highlighted in the March 15, 2005 special
issue in the "Knowledge Pushers" section for the work they do
reaching out to medically underserved populations.
Several ICON members have been published. Teri Hartman authored the following article:

Information Services in Distance Learning. 2005 1(4): 80-82. Teri is
also a member of the Advisory Board for New England Journal of Medicine.

Susan Payne will begin officially as Library Director for College of Saint Mary on April 4. Susan is also proud new mom of Jonathan, born soon after the 2004 ICON Winter meeting.
