- Executive Secretary’s Report (Mary Helms) :
- Mary mentioned that there are still a few individuals that need to renew their ICON membership
- The ICON financial report was handed out and is current as of last Friday we have had no expenses
- We sold another "The Librarian is in" video to University of Maryland
- ICON sent money to the charity of choice for Rose Schinker's father's funeral
- Communication Coordinator’s Report (Shawn Ammon) :
- Does anyone want to take over this position? It pays a small stipend of $400 per year. Let Teri know if you have any interest or want more information.
- Changes how the web site functions

- You can view the College of DuPage teleconferences on a pc, as well as at Bellevue and Creighton or you can check the tapes out from the Nebraska Library Commision or Creighton University Health Science Library/Learning Resources Center
- We postponed Marty Magee doing a PubMed training session since only one person responded so we will put out another offer over the listserve asking for interest and scheduling preferences
- Sharon Dennis is willing to come and do a technology program on web tools for meetings and teaching. Please let Jeanne know if you have preferred topics and classes

- Joint Midwest/MCMLA in Omaha: (Jim Bothmer)
- MCMLA approved a name for the meeting "License to Lead; License to Learn"
- The meeting co-chairs and committee chairs are planning to attend the joint planning meeting on April 28th in Des Moines from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm; The ICON Executive Committee approved paying for rental vehicle(s) sufficient to carry Omaha 007 committee attendees. Please let Teri or Jim know by email if you plan to join the group. Teri, Jim, Siobhan, Jane, Nancy, and Marty are planning on going.

- ICON received a bill for $1.67 over the budget, even though the grant actually came in under the budget. Mary took care of this!

- Teri suggested that we need some discussion on whether there is interest in updating the "Librarian is in" video.

- Hurricane Donation Update (Mary Helms) :
- $100. was sent to the ALA Hurricane fund

- RML news (Siobhan Champ-Blackwell) :
- The RML redesign of the web site continues and should be finished this summer
- There is a new quarterly magazine for patients and their families called "MedlinePlus". Because the costs are being covered by the "Friends of the National Library of Medicine" there will be limited paper subscriptions but anyone can access it full-text from the MedlinePlus web site (www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/magazine.html).
- Announcements:
- 2006 ICON meetings: Meetings are set for June 23rd at Immanuel, Sept. 15th, and Dec. 8th. The Sept. meeting locations are not set yet. The Dec. meeting will be at McGoogan as previously announced. If you would like to offer a meeting location suggestion, please contact Teri
- MCMLA will be Oct. 10-13th in St. Louis
- Nebraska Library Association/NEMA is Oct. 25-27 in Omaha
- UNMC will have a premier showing of their new free children's health video entitled, "Following the Clues: a visit to the doctor and the library”, on Mon., Mar. 20th from 12-1 p.m. in the Durham Research Center Auditorium; everyone is invited to attend
- Siobhan mentioned that Sharon Dennis is working on redesigning the RML website
- Both Teri's children received the Volunteer Youth Award from the Nebraska Legislature for their volunteer work at McGoogan Library of Medicine
- Mary Helms gave a reminder to those individuals that have volunteered to provide input for the MidContinental Region National Network of Libraries of Medicine's web site redesign project are to be at UNMC on April 10th
- Mary Helms has been appointed to the Omaha Public Library Board of Trustees
- Mary Helms made a motion for adjournment. Siobhan seconded. The meeting adjourned at 3:00 p.m.
