A Message from the Senior Executive Board Member

I hope you had a great Thanksgiving holiday, and are looking forward to our holiday ICON meeting. The meeting will be held at 2pm at the McGoogan Library of Medicine on December 8. RSVP to me by Dec. 1 (this Friday!) at thartman@unmc.edu if you are attending. If you know of someone that would like to join ICON, list them as a guest and bring them along - the holiday party is worth the membership fee!

Speaking of membership, Mary Helms will have membership forms and will gladly accept fees during the meeting - bring your checkbook, and ensure current membership for another year.

The meeting agenda and minutes from the September meeting will be on the ICON site (http://www.iconlibrary.org) after Dec. 1. If you have announcements that you would like entered on the agenda, please email them to me with your RSVP at thartman@unmc.edu and I will make sure that they are included. Currently, the only announcements I show are the spring MLA meeting in Philadelphia and our wonderful 2007 Joint Meeting to be held here in Omaha in October.

The other high-interest agenda item is the annual election for our Freshman Member. Please nominate yourself or a colleague SOON for this important 3-year office. As I end my year as Senior Member, I and have great memories of the myriad of experiences serving with the leadership of this organization, and am eager to see where ICON will go in the years ahead. Please plan to join the holiday party on Dec. 8th!
